a bit about me:

Outstanding Spanish author of books for small children, middle grade readers, and young adults.

She has a degree in Physical Sciences, with a master’s in Nuclear Energy. For fifteen years she worked at a research center, Ciemat, in Spain. In 2003 she published her first children’s book, and in 2009 she left her job at the science center to devote herself entirely to Children’s and Youth Literature.

She has published more than sixty books of stories, plays, and novels.

She has received several awards and recognitions. Some of them are: 

  • Premio Edebé of Children Literature, 2022

  • Premio Kiriko to the Best Juvenile Novel, 2022 (granted by the independent bookshops)

  • Finalist in “El Barco de Vapor” Prize of Fundación SM Spain, 2021

  • Book Bank of Venezuela, 2021

  • “Gran Angular” Prize of Fundación SM Spain, 2018

  • “Fundación Cuatrogatos” Prize or List, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022

  • White Ravens List of the Internationale Jugendbibliothek München, 2013, 2016, 2018 and 2019

  • Alandar Award, 2016

  • Anaya Award, 2016

  • “Leer es vivir” Prize, granted by Everest Publishing, 2013

  • “Ala Delta” Award, 2011

 for her work and for her writing career:

  • “Cervantes Chico” Prize, 2018

  • “María Elvira Muñoz-Felix” Prize, 2021

Five of her books have been translated into Chinese, Italian and Korean (3); and shortly one more into Turkish.

Two books are shortlisted in IBBY Mexico’s Recommended Book Guide, 2021.
