a bit about me:

One of the most productive and renowned Mexican authors of books for children, middle grade readers, and young adult. From 2001 up to date, has published 18 stories, 43 novels, and four plays. His books are sold in ten Latin American countries, including Mexico and also Spain.

He has received 23 literary prizes: 15 are Mexican (story - 1, novels - 12, plays -2 ) and eight are international (stories - 5, novels - 3). The most important prizes:

  • “Gran Angular” Prize for Young Adult Literature of Ediciones SM Mexico, 2003, 2005 y 2011

  • “El Barco de Vapor” Prize for Children’s Literature of Ediciones SM Mexico, 2007

  • International Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature of Norma Publishing Company, 2011

  • White Ravens List of the Internationale Jugendbibliothek München, 2013

  • “Fundación Cuatrogatos” Prize, 2014, and 2017

And for his work

  • Latin American SM Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature, 2015

Four of his books are part of the classroom and school libraries program of the Secretariat of Public Education of Mexico, with 230,424 copies.

Eighteen books are shortlisted in IBBY Mexico’s Recommended Book Guide, 2009 to 2021.

Two of his books have been translated into Chinese and French.
