Hello,
a bit about me:

Acclaimed Mexican illustrator, translator, journalist, and author of literary books for children, young adults, and adults.

She studied history in the National Autonomous University of Mexico and is a literature teacher.

She collaborated weekly for 27 years in La Jornada newspaper and belongs to the National System of Art Creators.

She has been awarded with the following literary prizes:

  • “Juan de la Cabada” Prize for Children´s and Young Adult Literature of the State of Campeche, Mexico, 1990

  • “Gran Angular” Prize for Young Adult Literature of Fundación SM Spain, 2013

  • Book Bank of Venezuela, 2001 and 2005

  • Shortlisted for the “Rattenfänger Literaturpreis” awarded by the City of Hamelin, Germany, 2002

  • IBBY Honor List, 2014

  • Nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2022 and 2023

  • Shortlisted by “Fundación Cuatrogatos” Prize 2022

One book is part of the classroom libraries program of the Ministry of Public Education of Mexico, with 45,000 copies.

Three books in IBBY Mexico’s Recommended Book Guide, 2015, 2017 and 2020.

Four books have been translated into German, Portuguese, Italian and Russian.
