Hello,
a bit about me:

Gonzalo Moure was born in Valencia, Spain, in 1951. He studied Political Sciences in the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. He worked in journalism for 16 years, mainly in radio. He started writing in 1989. He now lives in Asturias and visits libraries and schools to give lectures about his books. Has published more than 40 books. Has been awarded with several literary prices:

  • The Cervantes Chico for his whole work granted by the Alcalá de Henares City Hall, in 2017.

  • "Gran Angular" Prize for Young Adult Literature, 2003 of Ediciones SM Spain.

  • "El Barco de Vapor" Prize for Children Literature, 1996, of Ediciones SM Spain.

  • ​Four books have been in IBBY Honor List in 2021, 2004, 2002 and 1996.

  • One book shortlisted by Fundación Cuatrogatos 2023.

 

He directed the feature film “Leyuad” (Journey to the well of verses). In his fight for the promotion of reading, the work he carries out through the Bubisher project, five bookmobiles and five fixed libraries, where cultural activities are organized in the Saharawi refugee camps. He also informs young Spaniards about the situation in Western Sahara.

His books have been translated into italian, portuguese, turkish, corean, swedish, chinese, french for France and for Canada, galician, and basque.

​

One of his books is part of the classroom and school libraries program of the Ministry of Public Education of Mexico with 23,821 copies.
